We’re Destination Pike, a community group pushing to make the streets of Pike/Pine a more welcoming destination for all to enjoy.
At last month’s Art Walk, many of you told us that you wanted more events and more street space for people to support our Pike/Pine community. Since then, the city has closed off the intersection of Pike and 12th as part of a utilities renovation project. Local businesses have struggled as their front doors have become the back ends of a construction site. What if, for one evening, we could tackle the work of building community spaces on the street we love, as well as supporting the businesses we love and enjoying free popsicles?
UPDATE: The Popsicle Party has been cancelled due to conflicts with the construction work.
Join us Thursday, September 24th from 5-8pm for our community popsicle party on Pike between 11th and 12th. Free popsicles, live music, tables, room for picnic blankets, and discounts for takeout at local restaurants.
Rain or shine. If it rains, we’ll have hot chocolate instead. Bring a neighbor, and forward this to someone who’d enjoy it. Let’s bring this street to life!
The typical street party brings in vendors and food trucks and replaces the local businesses with pop up stands. On Pike, we have the local businesses that can support events. We’re partnering with them to make sure they benefit from the people coming to enjoy the good vibes.

Want to keep the party going? SDOT is holding the Low Population Neighborhood Open House about Capitol Hill on Sunday, September 27th from 1-4pm at the Cathy Hillenbrand Community Room at 10th and John. Come by whenever you can to share your ideas for neighborhood improvements and let them know that we want the kind of community space that allows for popsicle parties.
